Lia Gaglio is the 2021 Miss Clawson Teen USA and will be competing at the Miss Michigan Teen USA pageant on August 7th. While she would love to capture the crown, she would also like to capture the attention of Americans everywhere with her platform, Shatter the Stigma, a movement to end the addiction stigma. Having witnessed her family members battle addiction, Lia knows all too well the stigma that is placed on those battling addiction and how this stigma discourages others from seeking the help they need. As Lia states, "Addiction is a disease, not a choice, and everyone deserves to feel safe and supported in asking for help." In addition to her movement, Lia is also a Narcan instructor who regularly teaches others how to safely use Narcan in the case of an addiction emergency. She has educated over 200 individuals in Narcan safety. Her future goal is to become a trauma doctor for the United States Army.
