Chippewa Valley Boys Clinch District Basketball Title

With a 51-32 victory over Sterling Heights (10-13) Friday, the Chippewa Valley High School boy's varsity basketball team clinched the District 28 championship.

The win boosted their post-season record to 13-9 and secured the team a berth in the regional semifinals March 11. They are scheduled to take on L'Anse Creuse North (19-3) Monday at Grosse Pointe North.

Although the Crusaders bested the Big Reds twice in the regular season, Monday's game will take a different tone as both teams battle for a chance to compete in the regional final, and ultimately, the state championship. 

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
