Clinton Township voters will cast ballots in the Nov. 5 election about the following fire tax proposal. View the complete language here before going to the polls:
Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed on all taxable property in the Charter Township of Clinton, Macomb County, Michigan, be increased by One Dollar and Twenty Five Cents ($1.25) per Thousand Dollars (1.25 mills) of the taxable value for a period of Nine (9) years, 2013 to 2021, inclusive, as new additional millage to provide funds for (a) acquiring new fire apparatus and (b) other operational costs for the Fire Department, including additional firefighters? It is estimated that 1.25 mills will raise approximately $3,180,000 when first levied in 2013.
