Father-son dispute leads to gunfire

A 64-year-old Harrison Township man was arrested the evening of April 25 after he allegedly shot out the tires of the car his son was driving, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect and his 24-year-old son got into an argument at the 37000 block of Elm Lane. The father ordered him to leave but forbade him from taking the 2002 Chevy Malibu, the Sheriff's Office said.

As the son started leaving the driveway in the Malibu, the father emerged from the home with a shotgun and "fired at least three rounds, flattening two tires on one side of the vehicle," the Sheriff's Office stated.

Man takes 'fighting stance' in court

A 23-year-old Mount Clemens man was arrested April 25 when he became unruly and ready to fight deputies in Macomb County Probate Court in Clinton Township, police said.

The man, who grew upset by a ruling from Probate Judge Carl Marlinga, was yelling obscenities and lashing out before he was escorted from the courtroom. He then damaged a door and tore off his coat and shirt to "assume a fighting stance while confronting deputies," according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

He was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property and brought to Macomb County Jail. Authorities also discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Roseville for a previous incident of malicious destruction of property, the Sheriff's Office said.
