Macomb Co. Man Pulls Elderly Neighbor From Lawnmower, Beats Him: Prosecutor
Prosecutors said the attack was "deeply disturbing."

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A Clinton Township man is facing charges after attacking his elderly neighbor who was cutting his grass last weekend, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
Kurt Studing, 66, was charged with assault with intent to murder (a life or any term of years felony) and assault or assault and battery (a 93-day misdemeanor). He was placed in jail with a $500,000 bond.
If he is released from jail, he cannot talk to his neighbors and must wear a GPS tether.

The incident happened last Saturday outside a Clinton Township home, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said a 75-year-old man was cutting his grass when Studing pulled him off the mower and began kicking and punching him. The man’s 67-year-old wife tried stopping the attack, but prosecutors said Studing pushed her to the ground several times.

The 75-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries, prosecutors said.
The 67-year-old woman also needed medical attention, prosecutors said.
"The alleged attack on a vulnerable elderly neighbor is deeply disturbing. Violence can never be justified," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido. "Our office will work tirelessly to ensure accountability and to protect the safety and dignity of every member of our community—especially our seniors, who deserve to feel secure in their own homes."
