MCC Heightens Security Due to Potential Threat

The college remains open Wednesday as a threat is checked out at the Clinton Township campus.

Macomb Community College will heighten security measures Wednesday to explore a "dated, non-specific threat of violence" at the Clinton Township campus.

The college said it will remain open for classes as MCC asks faculty, students and staff for their patience while the security checks take place.

The steps come in light of the discovery of a threat written in the men's bathroom in the R building. The college says there's no indication that the threat is credible, but are asking any unusual activity to be reported to campus police, according to the college.

"Part of the threat included the number 4-24, 4-24," Casandra Ulbrich, of MCC, told ClickonDetroit.com , which reported trained dogs swept the campus this morning.

Ulbrich also told the station that the security measures would have taken place even if it wasn't in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon tragedy.
