Metro Jazz Voices to Bring Four-Part Harmony to Concert Series at Clinton-Macomb Library

The Detroit-based group will perform jazz standards and popular favorites during a concert March 3 at the main library in Clinton Township.

The Clinton-Macomb Public Library's Music at Main Sunday concert series will swing into the world of jazz next month with a performance by four-part harmony vocal jazz ensemble, Metro Jazz Voices.Β 

Based in Detroit, the group's program consists of jazz stardards and popular favorites sung in four-part harmony and accompanied by saxophone, piano, bass, flute and drums.

The concert, scheduled for 2 p.m. March 3 at the main library on Romeo Plank Road, was made possible in part by an Arts and Humanities Touring Grant from the Michigan Humanities Council and Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs.

"We always strive to bring in top-notch musicians to the library and we’re thrilled that this grant will help us bring in a great band like Metro Jazz Voices,” said Jamie Morris, community relations specialist, in a prepared statement.

The concert is free and open to the public.

A mini used-book sale organized by the Friends of the Clinton-Macomb Public Library will take place from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. March 3, featuring a 20 percent discount before and after the concert.Β
