Tara Grant Memorial Walk/Run Saturday

Turning Point, located in Macomb County, will host the 6th annual Tara Grant Memorial Walk/Run on Saturday, September 28. The fundraiser began in 2007 as a way for Tara Grant’s family to share her legacy with others by promoting domestic violence awareness. The event has grown over the years and Turning Point anticipates more than 600 participants this year at the downtown Mt. Clemens location.The Run/Walk commemorates and honors all victims, families and survivors who have been affected by domestic violence. Turning Point recognizes the importance of empowering people and working to end violence by providing counseling, support, advocacy, safety and shelter.“We are committed to improve the lives of victims and survivors of domestic violence” says Lynn Wilhelm, Turning Point’s Development Director. With our new Shelter and growing family of supporters, we can accomplish our goal of ending what often results in catastrophic outcomes, affecting entire families for life.” “We all pay the price”, she continued.Turning Point is partnering with CCPlus Dance/Fun/Fitness to offer a Free Family Health Fair from 4-7 pm, Friday, September 17, 2013 at 300 N.
