• Coldwater Lake Association seeks goose egg eradication permit (thedailyreporter.com) — Coldwater Lake residents may soon see a coordinated effort to collect and freeze Canada goose eggs, as Ovid and Kinderhook township clerks work on a joint resolution to secure DNR permits. The Coldwater Lake Association says reducing droppings will protect water quality, limit health risks from bacteria, and curb algae growth that can harm fish and other aquatic life.
   

• OBITUARY: Robert Charles 'Bob' Bussing (wtvbam.com) — Coldwater friends are mourning Robert “Bob” Bussing, a former local farmer and renowned Duroc hog breeder who died December 5 at age 89. Raised in Ovid Township and settled on a Coldwater farm, he built a nationally respected hog operation before retiring, and his family suggests memorials to the Branch County 4‑H Foundation in Coldwater.
