The former president drummed up support among the Arab American community in the final stretch before the Presidential election.

DEARBORN, MI Former President Bill Clinton made a surprise visit to Dearborn yesterday to drum up support for his wife, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, in the final campaign stretch before the presidential election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The former president's first Dearborn stop: the Greenland Supermarket, where he walked around the Middle Eastern grocery store and spoke with shoppers.

Stop number two? The Al-Ameer Restaurant, where Clinton smiled for selfies with the staff and chatted with diners. Clinton reportedly wasn’t able to eat because he had to catch a flight, but placed a falafel order to go.

Poll figures show the former secretary of state has huge support among the Arab American community, but the battle over winning Michigan has increasingly become a dog fight. Clinton has a 4-point lead over Republican rival Donald Trump in a new poll. On Monday, Clinton is campaigning in Grand Rapids and President Barack Obama is stumping for Clinton in Ann Arbor.
