Celebrate 100 Years Of Women Voting At Dearborn Lecture
The lecture April 17 will honor women in Michigan voting for the past 100 years.
DEARBORN, MI – Reflecting a timely topic as more and more women take to the political stage, the Dearborn Historical Museum will host a special lecture on the crusade for women’s voting rights. It happens at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17.
Called “Petticoat Patriots: How Michigan Women Won the Vote,”the lively presentation will be at the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave.
Riley Hubbard of “Michigan Women Forward #HERStory” will recount the history of the women’s rights movement, from its beginning in the 1800s through the final passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

It was 100 years ago that Michigan women were able to vote for statewide offices for the first time.
Admission to the talk is $5.
