Combative Drunk Arrested In Dearborn: Police
Dearborn officers recently arrested a man for fighting and drunk driving.

DEARBORN, MI — A 69-year-old man was recently arrested after fighting with Dearborn Police. The man was involved in an accident on Michigan Avenue near Gulley Road in the early morning hours of May 28. His Ford Fusion struck a tree in the 24900 block of Michigan Avenue at approximately 1:45 a.m., according to police reports.
A witness, who called police, also woke the man. The witness told police that the driver was breathing but unconscious, according to a report. The 69-year-old fled the scene prior to officers arriving, heading west on Michigan Avenue on the sidewalk, reports said.
Police caught up with him a short time later. Reports said the man was combative with officers and had to be taken to the ground to execute the arrest. Police later searched the 69-year-old man’s Fusion and found a cup with what appeared to be alcohol in it, the Dearborn Press and Guide reported.
