Dearborn Driving School Suspended After Thousands Of Violations: MDOS

Hundreds of new drivers who graduated and received certificates from the school may have invalid credentials, officials said.

DEARBORN, MI — A Dearborn driving school was suspended earlier this month after a state investigation found thousands of violations, according to the Michigan Department of State.

Epic Driving Education LLC, owned by Ameer Abusalah and located at 5 Berwick Lane in Dearborn, was suspended on Nov. 1 after investigators found 6,643 violations between 2021 and 2023. The violations include:

  • Failure to provide training records, contracts, and knowledge tests
  • Failing to verify that students enrolled in a course meet physical and mental requirements for licensure
  • Failing to ensure students successfully passed a knowledge test prior to issuing a Certificate of Completion
  • Misrepresenting the quantity and quality of instruction provided for a driver education certificate and/or driver license

Officials asked parents whose children attended Epic Driving School between 2021 and 2023 to contact them at Michigan.gov/DriverEdComplaint to confirm if their certificates of completion or driver’s licenses are still valid due to the violations, since the Department of State cannot issue certificates of completion to students who took the courses.
