Dearborn Heights Man Arrested After Threatening Nearby School: Police

Officers found multiple firearms and "indications of threatening ideology" inside the man's home, according to police.​​

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — A Dearborn Heights man is in trouble after posting threats directed toward a nearby school onto social media, according to police.

Andrew Mark Bays was charged with intentional threat to commit act of violence against a school and using a computer to commit a crime. He faces up to 10 years in prison for each charge.

He was placed in jail with a $500,000 bond. He will be required to wear an electronic tether if he posts bond.

Police said officers received information from another law enforcement agency about “threatening social media postings” directed toward a Dearborn Heights school last weekend.

The investigation led police to a home in the 5000 block of Pardee Street, where they arrested Bays in connection with the threats, according to police.
