Baydoun, Malinowski-Maxwell Top Vote-Getters In Primary Race For Dearborn Heights Mayor
The seat became open after Dearborn Heights Mayor Bill Bazzi was selected by President Trump as the U.S. ambassador of Tunisia.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS — City Council Chairman Mo Baydoun and Denise Malinowski-Maxwell were leading Tuesday's primary race for Dearborn Heights mayor, according to unofficial vote totals.
Baydoun appeared to have 68 percent of the vote, and Malinowski-Maxwell appeared to have 26 percent of the vote, according to unofficial vote totals.
Two other candidates, Lena Arzouni and Hussein Anani, garnered 8 percent and 7 percent of support, respectively, according to unofficial results

Only the top two candidates will advance to the November 4 general election. The winner in that election will serve a four-year term.
