Dearborn Hosts Martian Marathon Races

Here's a look at the free family-friendly activities taking place at Ford Field in Dearborn Saturday.

DEARBORN, MI — Martians will again be invading Dearborn this spring, and you’re invited to be part of the action.

Thousands of runners of all ages will descend upon Dearborn’s Ford Field Park on Saturday, April 13, to participate in the annual “Martian Invasion of the Races.”

This year’s event features a traditional 26-mile marathon and a 13-mile half-marathon, as well as a 5K and 10K, and a shorter kids’ marathon.

Local runners can register for the Martian Invasion of the Races at martianraces.com through April 11.

Runners and those cheering them on are encouraged to show their intergalactic spirit by dressing in costume for this family-friendly event.

The Martian Invasion of the Races is presented Running Fit—an Ann Arbor-based organization that helps coordinate races across the United States—and the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department.
