Dearborn Officer Injured In Collision

The officer was passing through an intersection to assist another officer when the collision happened Wednesday.

DEARBORN, MI — Dearborn police are investigating an accident that caused one officer to be transported to the hospital and treated for injuries.

According to the Dearborn Police Department, an officer was traveling north on Schaefer Road around 8:15 p.m. April 3 to respond to another officer needed assistance when he was struck by another car. Police said it happened as the officer passed through the intersection at Ford Road.

The officer was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries before being released, the department said.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 37-year-old Dearborn Heights resident, was not injured in the collision.

Authorities are still investigating the accident.
