Dearborn Police Say Suspect Fired At Car Containing Kids

Dearborn police are asking for help identifying the suspect. $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

DEARBORN, MI — A suspect accused of firing shots at a car containing young children is on the loose, and a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the man's arrest.

On Saturday, Oct. 29 at approximately 3:45 p.m., Dearborn officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Hubbard and Southfield. The victim told officers that he and his family were stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Hubbard and Southfield when a male in a dark colored vehicle pulled next to their vehicle and began firing shots at them.

The victim fled the scene and no one sustained any injuries.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. He is described as Arabic, between 20-30 years old and has facial hair. If you have information, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or the Dearborn Police at 313-943-2240.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a press release “This crime is particularly disturbing because there were small children in the victim’s vehicle when the shooting occurred. This type of crime is most unacceptable and motive is not certain. We will not sleep until this perpetrator is brought to justice.”
