Dearborn Ranked Fifth Best Place to Trick-Or-Treat

Find out why Dearborn is scientifically ranked one of the best places to hit this Halloween.

DEARBORN, MI — Hey, Dearborn, did you know you're the fifth best place to trick-or-treat in the country (you're tied with Longmont, Colorado). That's according to a new survey by SmartAsset, a New York-based personal finance technology company.

Researchers rated over 250 of the largest American cities. Each city was measured on factors including number of children 14 and younger (the more kids in an area, the more likely people will give out candy), median home price (affordable housing equals higher family population), violent crime rate (self-explanatory), and the weather. Interesting Halloween trivia: The study found the ideal trick-or-treating temperature is 60 degrees. The rationale is that extreme temperatures kill the Halloween vibe.

Dearborn actually increased its Halloween-desirability and moved up three spots this year due to falling property crime rates and soaring median home prices (prices have jumped 26.4%).
