Dearborn Voter Guide 2025: Who's On Ballot, Where To Vote

There are several key races to watch in Dearborn, including Mayor Abdullah Hammoud facing off against challenger Nagi Almudhegi.

DEARBORN, MI — Election Day is Nov. 4 in Michigan, and there are several key races to watch in Dearborn. The highlight is the Dearborn mayoral race, in which voters will choose to either re-elect Mayor Abdullah Hammoud. Other important races include a city council race and a city clerk's race.

Dearborn Mayoral Race

Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud is running for re-election against Nagi Almudhegi, an IT manager. There was no primary since no other candidates entered the race.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. You can also still register and vote at Dearborn's clerk's office until 8 p.m. You can see the voting precinct map here.

Hammoud, a former Democratic state representative, was first elected mayor in 2021. He became the city's first ever Arab-American elected mayor.

Hammoud has a strong list of accomplishments, including establishing the Dearborn Department of Health, the "fugitive dust and bulk storage" to improve air quality across the city and overseeing a decrease in crime, according to police data.

His campaign has largely focused on public safety, flood prevention and fiscal stability. He recently detailed multiple projects to help tackle flooding in the city during heavy rainstorms.

Almudhegi, on the other hand, has positioned himself as a Republican-backed candidate and a supporter of President Donald Trump. He said his campaign focused on crime reduction, reckless driving, flooding and drug addiction. He did not respond to Patch's candidate survey.

Other Key Races

Voters in Dearborn will also choose seven city council members. Running for the seats are Robert A. Abraham, Mubarek Ahmed, Othman Ali Alaansi, Kamal Alsawafy, Mark Andrew, Sharon Dulmage, Gary A. Enos, Mustapha Hammoud, Shadi Mawari, Devon O'Reilly, Ahmad Othman, Ken Paris and Michael T. Sareini. The winners will be elected to a four-year term.

Dearborn voters will also decide a city clerk's race. They will choose to either re-elect George Darany or elect Sami Elhady.
