Dearborn Walmart Cleared After Suspicious Package Found: Updated
A bomb squad dismantled the package, but didn't say what they found inside.

Updated at 8:45 p.m. DEARBORN, MI — The parking lot of a Walmart store in Dearborn was cleared about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday night was cleared about 8:15 p.m. after a bomb squad was called to investigate a suspicious package, according to multiple media reports.
Shoppers were allowed to leave the area after police dismantled the package, which appeared to be a black cauldron or pot with wires running to a suitcase or briefcase placed nearby in the parking lot at 5851 Mercury Drive near the Southfield freeway.
Police didn't say what they found, but took multiple tests, including X-rays, before it was dismantled.

Earlier, WJBK-TV reported the store and the area around it had been evacuated, and WXYZ-TV said people inside the Walmart were not allowed to leave in their cars.
