John Dingell In Hospice Care: Reports

Reports say former congressman John Dingell is now in hospice care after his wife Debbie Dingell asked for prayers Wednesday.

MICHIGAN — It's being reported that former Congressman John Dingell, 92, is now in hospice care.

U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell missed President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address to be at home with her husband Tuesday and then Wednesday asked for prayers.

Dingell is now in hospice, according to sources familiar with the family, WDIV reported.

“Friends and colleagues know me and know I would be in Washington right now unless something was up,” Debbie Dingell tweeted Wednesday morning. “I am home with John and we have entered a new phase. He is my love and we have been a team for nearly 40 years.”

She followed it up with a second tweet that said, “I will be taking each day as it comes. We thank people for their friendship and support and ask for prayers and privacy during this difficult time.”

John Dingell, 92, retired in 2015 as the nation’s longest-serving congressman. He was hospitalized in September from a heart attack.

He also recently released an autobiography, “The Dean, the Best Seat in the House.”
His wife succeeded his position.
