Emergency Shelters Available For Dearborn Residents
The Ford Community And Performing Arts Center will serve as one shelter on Thursday night.

DEARBORN, MI β The city of Dearborn is taking steps to help residents in the wake of Wednesdayβs wind storm. In coordination with Dearborn Heights and the Red Cross, two overnight emergency shelters will be open starting at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The shelters are in Dearborn at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., and McCollugh-Unis School, 7801 Maple Street. No weapons or pets, except service animals, are allowed. The shelters will have cots for sleeping. Volunteers will assist at the shelter operations. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The city is also offering free dry ice to Dearborn residents who are without power. Distribution will take place in the theater loading dock area of the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. beginning at 6 p.m.
The distribution takes place outside of the building. Residents seeking dry ice do not need to enter the building. Distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis. City officials said residents must show proof of Dearborn residency and bring a container to safely transport the dry ice.
