Here are a few important loose leaf tips to leave you with:

1. Your vehicle can't be parked on the street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on your neighborhood’s trash day.

2. Yes, you can rake leaves into the street. But the preferred method is to stash leaves in paper yard waste bags or approved 20-32 gallon containers labeled as yard waste. That makes it much faster for crews. Warning: Put down the plastic bag! Leaves in plastic bags or cardboard boxes won't be picked up.

3. Rake leaves into the street the night before your pick-up day. If you rake leaves into the street any earlier than that, it's a recipe for driving disasters. It's fun to jump into leaf piles, it's less fun to drive through leaf piles.

4. If crews can't pick up all the leaves, they'll be back the next trash day on a non-recycling week.

5. Mark your calendar! Leaf collection ends Dec. 2. 2016. So no raking leaves into the street after that! You can pack leaves in bags and containers to be picked up as part of curbside waste collection on your trash day until Dec. 9, 2016.
