First Lady's Tea Benefits Dearborn Community Arts Council

The annual fundraiser will take place on May 11 and is open to the public.

The Dearborn Community Arts Council is accepting reservations for its annual "First Lady's Tea" honoring Christina O’Reilly on May 11.

The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Dearborn Hills Golf Course Clubhouse.

The event, held on Mother’s Day weekend, traditionally sells out. Tickets are $35, with proceeds supporting the programs and activities of the Dearborn Community Arts Council and Dearborn Senior Services. Men and women are invited to attend the festivities.

Tables will be artistically set by prominent members of the community for the high tea luncheon. Mimosas and live music will greet guests as they arrive. Also featured will be a "Teatime Treasures" auction.

This year’s distinguished speaker will be Mary Zatina, senior vice president for government relations and corporate communication for Oakwood Healthcare, Inc.

The luncheon will feature an assortment of fine teas complimented by a gourmet soup, Michigan salad, a selection of tea sandwiches, scones and muffins, fresh fruit and a buffet of mini desserts.
