Two men are facing assault and battery charges in connection with an alleged attack against Dearborn Councilman Mike Sareini in March.

DEARBORN, MI — Two brothers are facing assault and battery charges in connection with a March attack against Dearborn City Councilman Mike Sareini. Hasan Hamzeh Abbas and Albert Mohamed Abbas will appear in front of 19th District Court Judge Mark Summers on Aug. 4 for a pretrial conference.
According to Sareini, he and his mother were “verbally harassed and physically assaulted” by the two disgruntled men after a memorial service for former Fordson High School Principal Imad Fadlallah.
The Abbas’ are businessmen who Sareini said have approached him in the past asking for help with buying real estate in Dearborn. The two men also attended the memorial service, and Hasan Abbas allegedly shoved Sareini inside the building, according to a police report.
