Henry Ford Community College Students Prep for Oktoberfest Buffet

The Fifty-One O One student-run restaurant will serve German-style food on Oct. 2.

Henry Ford Community College’s (HFCC) Fifty-One O One student-run restaurant in the Student and Culinary Arts Center will once again host its annual Oktoberfest buffet on Wednesday.

The restaurant is located at 5101 Evergreen Road in Dearborn.

The menu includes Bavarian potato soup, Frankenmuth-style chicken, Sauerbraten carved to order, bratwurst and knackwurst with red cabbage späetzle, German potato salad and glazed baby carrots.

Additionally, there will be a salad bar, where customers can choose from a tossed garden salad with assorted dressings, roasted root vegetable salad with horseradish vinaigrette, an assorted relish tray, cucumbers with dill-sour cream dressing, pickled beet salad and Bohemian applesauce.

Meals also include a selection of desserts, including apple strudel, black forest torte, cheesecake with assorted toppings; German Stollen bread and assorted sweet rolls.

For Oktoberfest, the restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch and from 6 to 8 p.m. for dinner. The price of the buffet is $14 per person. Reservations are recommended.
