Jennies Pierogies Closing Metro Detroit Store After 30 Years

Staff said the store is closing due to unresolvable issues with their landlord.

GARDEN CITY, MI — Jennies Pierogies is permanently closing its Garden City location along Middlebelt Road after more than 30 years, Patch learned Monday.

Staff said the store will close for good on Nov. 2 due to unresolvable issues with their landlord. Staff would not comment further on the matter.

They are hoping to find a new building and plan to share updates on the search.

The popular Polish food store was founded in the area of Warren Avenue and Evergreen Road in Detroit's Warrendale neighborhood in 1988. They eventually expanded to Garden City, Southgate and Warren. The Southgate and Warren locations have since closed.
