Person Killed By Train In Dearborn: Police

A pedestrian was reportedly struck and killed by an eastbound train late Monday night. Here's what we know so far.

DEARBORN, MI — A pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a train in Dearborn, police announced Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 11:40 p.m. Jan. 27 near Outer Drive just south of Michigan Avenue. Responding officers found that the person had been struck and killed by an eastbound train.

Police said the collision happened at a place that was not an approved rail crossing.

The person's identity is not being released by police at this time, they said. No passengers or train crew were injured in the collision.

“This is a tragic situation and our condolences go out the families involved," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said.
