Police Searching For Driver After Crash Along I-94 In Wayne County: MSP
Police said the car struck a pole along the freeway and then fell into water in the area.

WAYNE COUNTY, MI — Police are looking for the driver of a car that crashed along Interstate 94 in Wayne County and became submerged in water early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound Interstate 94 near Ecorse Road, according to police.
Police said the car struck a pole along the freeway and then fell into water in the area. Officers found a 25-year-old Newport woman, who was intoxicated and a passenger inside the car, police said.

She told them that her boyfriend was still in the car when she got out of the vehicle after the crash, police said.
Troopers searched the area, but did not find anyone, police said.

Police reached out to the Downriver Mutual Aid Dive Team to help search the water and help recover the car.
Police were still investigating the incident.
