Registration Open For Dearborn's Summer Camp At The Center
The popular day camp program starts June 17.

DEARBORN, MI—Registration is underway for the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department’s popular “Summer Camp at the Center,” which is conducted at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.
Tailored to youngsters ages 5-11, “Summer Camp at The Center” is divided into eight, one-week sessions—each of which has a special theme—and features both indoor and outdoor activities, such as active group games, arts and crafts, rock wall climbing and swimming in the leisure pool.
Sessions run Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional child care is available from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 4:30-5 p.m. at a cost of $3/half hour.
All camp counselors are either certified elementary school teachers or university students majoring in education, and our camper-to-counselor ratio is 10:1.

Registration, which takes place at the service desk of the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, includes submission of a copy of the child’s birth certificate, a health form and a liability waiver, as well as either a $25 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit or payment in full.

Parents remitting the $25 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit—along with the required paperwork—can reserve a spot for their child in any of the eight sessions. This deposit will be applied toward to the total registration cost when the remaining balance is paid, which must be no later than 3 p.m. the Friday before the child’s camping session begins.
This summer’s themes include Spirit Week, June 17-21; Celebrations Week, June 24-28; Red, White and Blue Week, July 1-3; Let the Games Begin Week, July 8-12; Color Week, July 15-19; Food Frenzy Week, July 22-26; Camp’s Got Talent Week, July 29-August 3; Wet and Wild Week, August 5-9.
The cost per week is $140 for Passholders, $170 for residents, $200 for non-residents. Siblings receive a $20/week discount. Cost is pro-rated for the three-day week of July 1-3.
