Sparta Woman in Critical Condition Following Sunday Crash in Dearborn

Dearborn Police are investigating the cause of a two-car accident on Carlysle Road on March 17.

One woman is in critical condition following a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Carlysle and Parker roads in Dearborn on Sunday.

According to Dearborn Police Sgt. Steven White, a 46-year-old woman was injured when the Ford Fusion she was riding in struck a parked vehicle and flipped over near the 2300 block of Carlysle around 8:30 p.m. on March 17.

The woman was transported to Oakwood Hospital for her injuries. A female driver and a male passenger were also treated for minor injuries, police said.

"It does appear based on our initial investigation that alcohol was a factor," White said. "We're following up further and we will make a determination once we receive more information from the hospital."

White said the woman, whose name is not being released, is a resident of Sparta.
