Warming Centers Will Be Open Friday Night In Dearborn
The Ford Community and Performing Arts Center will not be a shelter location Friday night.

DEARBORN, MI β In coordination with Dearborn Heights and the Red Cross, two overnight emergency shelters will again be open Friday night starting at 6 p.m. The shelters are in Dearborn at McCollough-Unis School, 7801 Maple Street, and Stout Middle School, 18500 Oakwood Boulevard. The Ford Community and Performing Arts Center will not be a shelter location Friday night.
The shelters will have cots for sleeping. Volunteers will assist at the shelter operations. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. People should bring their own blankets and pillows. No weapons or pets, except service animals, are allowed. The shelters will be open until 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 11. However, officials will be evaluating conditions to determine if additional nights are needed.
With the Detroit metropolitan area running low on dry ice, the city of Dearborn will not be handing out dry ice Friday night, according to city officials.

A number of communities are following suit and opening warming centers. Full restoration of power is not expected until at least Sunday night, according to utility companies. Officials from DTE Energy said Friday morning that 400,000 customers remain without power and 100,000 Consumers Energy customers remained without electricity, the Detroit News reported.
