1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Oakland County Shooting, Crash: Sheriff

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — One person is dead and another person was injured Monday after a shooting and crash that police described as "a chaotic incident" in Oakland County.

The incident started in the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn on South Rochester Road in Rochester Hills where there was a fight involving at least three people, according to the sheriff's office.

Two people were shot during the fight, officials said.

One of the victims was killed in the shooting, while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

After the shooting, there was a car crash near Rochester Road and South Boulevard, officials said.

Officials did not report any serious injuries in the crash.

Investigators believe the crash is connected to the shooting.

Officials have identified three people involved in the incident, but did not say if anyone was arrested. They were still investigating the incident and there is no threat to the public.
