50 MPH Winds, Power Outages Possible Monday: Metro Detroit Weather

METRO DETROIT — Winds can reach up to 50 miles per hour Monday across metro Detroit, according to the National Weather Service.

Steady southwest winds will blow between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts reaching up to 45 and 50 miles per hour across the area, according to the weather service.

Forecasters warned the strong winds can lead to downed tree branches and scattered power outages across the area.

Snow showers will also move into the southeastern Michigan area Monday evening amid a cold front, according to the weather service.

Most areas across metro Detroit will likely see just a dusting, while areas farther north, especially north of Michigan 59 can see between 1 and 3 inches of snow, according to the weather service.

Daytime highs will reach the upper 30s across the southeastern Michigan area this week, with a chance for a wintry mix to end the week, according to the weather service.
