Forecasters said the rain will continue through at least the morning hours with temperatures in the low 30s. They warned any untreated roads will quickly turn into ice, creating difficult driving conditions. Isolated power outages are also possible.
Areas between M-59 and Interstate 69 could see up to a quarter inch of ice, while areas south of M-59 will likely see between 0.10″ and 0.20″ of ice accumulation through early Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

"Difficult travel conditions are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute," the National Weather Service said in the outlook. "Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute."
Forecasters expect another strong system to move into the area Sunday night. That storm is expected to start with rain in the daytime hours when highs hit 50 degrees, before turning into snow during the nighttime hours, the weather service said.

Cold air returns to the region next week with a few snow chances, but there doesn't appear to be any major storms in the forecast.
