51% Of Michiganders Have Received COVID Vaccine: Monday Briefing
Michigan is growing closer to Step 1 of its coronavirus reopening plan. Read about that and more in today's Monday briefing.

LANSING, MI — More than 51 percent of Michiganders have received doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, moving Michigan a little closer to Step 1 of its coronavirus reopening plan.
According to the most recent data released Saturday by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, 4,166,575 people in the state — or 51.5 percent of eligible residents — have been vaccinated.
Michigan is now 4 percent away from Step 1 of its coronavirus reopening plan, which stipulates that once 55 percent of eligible Michiganders have been vaccinated in-person work for all business sectors can resume in two weeks.

Michigan Tops 700,000 COVID-19 Recoveries
Also on Saturday, the state reported that more than 700,000 people in the state had recovered from the coronavirus. MDHHS data shows that 703,746 in Michigan had recovered as of Friday, when the state also reported 1,825 new COVID-19 cases and 122 more deaths.

As of Saturday, Michigan has reported 862,633 total cases of the coronavirus and 18,206 COVID-19 deaths.
Frost Advisory issued For Much of Michigan
A frost advisory has been issued for much of Michigan Monday morning. According to the National Weather Service in Detroit, a frost advisory will be in effect from 2-8 a.m. Monday in several counties, including Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe.
Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered, the NWS warned.
Outside of the cold weather early on Monday, temperatures will get as high as 56 degrees on Monday with mostly sunny weather. Things will be around 37 degrees Monday night.
On Tuesday, Michiganders can expect sunny weather with a chance of showers before things turn clear at night.
Sunny weather is in store for Wednesday, with clear skies at night.
Thursday will bring mostly sunny weather during the day with mostly cloudy weather at night.
