SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — There are multiple chances for snow this week across southeastern Michigan as some of the coldest air of the winter season moves into the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered snow showers will develop in southeastern Michigan during the afternoon and evening hours Wednesday when highs reach the low 20s, according to the weather service.

Forecasters expect up to 1 inch of snow across most parts of the region, especially south of Interstate 94, by Wednesday night.

Overnight lows will drop somewhere between zero and 10 degrees with wind chills below zero in most areas by Thursday morning, according to the weather service.

Skies will open up and allow for sunshine Thursday before another round of snow moves into the southeastern Michigan region, according to the weather service.

Widespread snow showers are expected across southeastern Michigan on Friday afternoon, with 1 or 2 inches of accumulation possible, according to the weather service.

Some of those snow showers will linger into Saturday when highs return to the 30s across southeastern Michigan, according to the weather service.

The slightly warmer temperatures will stick around for a few days before another arctic air mass sweeps into southeastern Michigan, pushing highs right back down into the low 20s by the middle of next week, according to the weather service.
