Afternoon Storms, High Winds To Hit Region Thursday

According to the National Weather Service, the primary threat will be strong winds and possibly severe thunderstorms.

SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — Potentially severe storms are crossing lower Michigan Thursday afternoon. Expect to see some lightning and a primary risk of high winds, up to 60 mph. This storm warning is in effect for Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Genesee and Shiawassee counties.

Expect a chance of showers from the early afternoon until 11 p.m. We’ll then head into a mostly sunny weekend with highs in the low 80s.

A chance of showers before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. North northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming northeast in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
