Billionaire Dan Gilbert Rescues Employees From Hurricane Irma

Quicken Loans Found and Cleveland Cavaliers Owner Dan Gilbert sent a private plane for employees in the path of Irma.

DETROIT, MI — Quicken Loans Founder and Cleveland Cavaliers Owner Dan Gilbert showed home much he cares about his employees earlier this week. The billionaire dispatched one of his private planes to the Caribbean to rescue employee and their families ahead of Hurricane Irma, according to a WXYZ-TV Detroit report.

“Sources tell 7 Action News that Gilbert sent his plane to the Bahamas to rescue an employee and their family who were on vacation in the Caribbean island. Irma is a category 5 storm that is headed toward the Bahamas as it moved through several islands between the Caribbean and Atlantic.”
“Nearly 16 million people are in the hurricane's path. Its maximum sustained wind speeds remained at 180 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center's latest report.”
