Why are you seeking elective office?
Racial disparities need to be addressed in order for our city to thrive. We cannot continue to operate as if there is equity or equality in our city. We continue to segregate our neighborhoods and workplaces as if we were going back in time. The cost of living has drastically increased and has forced lifelong citizens out of their homes. We aren’t being progressive enough to include everyone. We must fight to create actual policy that will not match the current blueprint that we have in place today. With using the core tenets of intersectionality, we can create policy for the historically oppressed and marginalized groups, with an emphasis on Black and Brown Detroiters. To give the residents of Detroit access to social goods and social justice. 40% of Detroiters live in poverty. Giving access to social justice inside the city can change many of the issues that effect the progression of the city.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
6. The most pressing issue Detroit faces , is that 40% of Detroiters live in poverty. Detroit is also the most segregated city in the country and the disparities are evident in the quality of life and opportunities afforded to our residents. We have to provide access to basic social goods. We must give citizens access to social goods so that we may start to build equity inside marginalized communities. Housing, food, education, health, and jobs are major pillars in the fight for social goods.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am the only nationally endorsed candidate in this race. We believe that speaks volume in regards to our progressiveness. We have the support of many elected officials from other states and cities. We have connected with progressive city leaders to further expand Detroits progress. We have continued to represent Detroit at the national level and that is something that hasn’t been done before. I am the only candidate that has a plan and have publicly made it known since declaring my candidacy.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?
I believe that suburbanites where treated with more priority than Detroit residents. I believe that he was transparent in his efforts but a few things could have been adjusted. One major flaw was the lack of effort towards getting the homeless vaccinated. We must continue to put more effort into involving or homeless population in major policy conversations.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
Once elected my top priorities will be to address the over assessment of property taxes. Develop a city wide blight removal plan.Create an interactive tool for resident feedback. Reframing our approach to ensuring safety in our district. Most importantly standing firm to uphold and create community benefit agreements.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
