Central Michigan Quarterback Among 2 Injured In Shooting
Central Michigan quarterback John Keller was among two shooting victims at an off-campus party Saturday night.
MT. PLEASANT, MI — Two Central Michigan University students — including a quarterback on the university's football team — were injured Saturday in a shooting at an off-campus party.
John Keller, a quarterback for the Chippewas' football team, was list in serious condition as of Sunday, according to CMU President Bob Davies. Another student, Tyler Bunting, was in stable condition, the campus official said in a statement.
"I and many other CMU staff have personally reached out to each of the students and their families to offer support," Davies said. "We are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers. Please join me in hoping for a speedy recovery for both individuals."

Several people arrived at a party on Saturday prior to a fight breaking out, according to the Central Michigan student newspaper, CM Life. During the fight, someone went to a vehicle where they grabbed a gun and began firing, according to the paper.
A GoFundMe created for Keller had raised more than $22,000 as of Monday morning. Over 380 people had donated to the fund, which was created by Lauren Rhodes.

"Right now John is fighting for his life at Hurley Medical Center and remains in critical condition after being life flighted from another hospital near by," the fund reads. "With John's condition being critical, medical expenses will be extensive throughout his recovery. I ask of everyone to keep John and his family in your prayers during this difficult time. With the help from your generous donations, we can ease the Keller family from the stress brought from medical expenses."
