City Of Detroit: RIDER ALERT: The Detroit Free Press Marathon And 5K Reroutes

The Detroit Free Press Marathon will take place this weekend in Detroit. As a result, several bus routes will be affected by the 5K and marathon running races held this Saturday and Sunday in Detroit.

Due to the Detroit Free Press 5K running race taking place Saturday, October 16th, 9-Jefferson will be adjusted to accommodate road closures between 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The 5K route will include parts of Jefferson Ave. between Riopelle and Mt. Elliott.

Eastbound:
Regular on Jefferson to left Rivard to right on Larned to right on Mt. Elliott to left on Jefferson to regular.
Westbound:
Regular on Jefferson to right on Mt. Elliott to left on Larned to left on Rivard to right on Jefferson to regular.
On Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, The 43rd annual Detroit Free Press Marathon will take place in Detroit, beginning and ending downtown. The area around Fort Street and Second Street will be closed beginning 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 through 6 p.m. Oct. 17. The Rosa Parks Transit Center will remain open for operation.
Other road closures and detours will begin at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday along the run course. All roads are expected to reopen by 6 p.m.
