Prosecutors said the couple's three dogs escaped an unsecured gate and attacked Phillips while he was walking home.
On Friday, a judge sentenced Roy to 30 months to 15 years in prison, and Trevina was sentenced to three years of probation.
Harold's wife, Shauntaye Phillips, told the judge she cries every day since her husband died.
"I never imagined having to watch him die so tragically - I'm just trying to do the best I can for my kids now, because it's so hard to grow without a parent," she said.
