Prosecutors said Detroit police around 1 p.m. Friday responded to a parking complaint about Smith's vehicle in a vacant lot across from a home in the 2400 block of Pingree Steet in Detroit.
When the officers arrived at the vehicle, they found Smith standing in the street next to the vacant lot and told him to return to his home, prosecutors said. Smith, prosecutors allege, called 911 to make death threats against the officers impounding his vehicle.
