Detroit Public Schools Teacher Tries To Pay Minor For Sex: Police

DETROIT — A Detroit Public Schools teacher is in trouble after he was arrested last Thursday in an underage prostitution sting in Ohio, according to court documents.

Jacob V. Suder, 31, of Maumee, Ohio, was charged with compel prostitution pay or agree to pay a minor to engage in sexual activity. He was placed in jail with a $15,000 bond. His next court hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

Suder, a teacher at Mumford High School, told an undercover officer, who was posing as the minor, that he wanted to pay $60 for oral sex, according to court documents.

He was directed to a parking lot in downtown Toledo, where he planned to meet the juvenile. Instead, he was met by officers, who arrested him, according to court documents.

Detroit Public Schools Community District said Suder was placed on administrative leave while officials investigate.

"We are unaware of any other alleged victims associated with the school but will conduct an investigation to ensure that is the case. School families and staff have been informed," the district said in a statement.
