Detroit Ranked 145th (Out of 150) Best Place To Be A Real Estate Agent

Check out why researchers say it's hard to be a realtor in Detroit.

DETROIT, MI — It might seem like a hustling and bustling real estate market in Detroit, but it is actually tough calling Detroit home sweet home if you're a realtor. The city ranked 145th (out of 150) of the best places to be a realtor in a new study by WalletHub, a personal finance website.

Researchers analyzed what it was like being a realtor in 150 major cities across America by examining two big factors: job opportunity and competition (e.g. sales per agent, median home price) and real estate market health (e.g. days on market, average ratio of home sale price to home list price).

Detroit earned poor scores in both areas, which plummeted it near the bottom of the 'best place to be a realtor list.' Ouch! Jackson, MS came in dead last in the rankings, and Honolulu, HI earned the top spot. Aloha!
