DETROIT, MI — A player for the Detroit Tigers as well as a non-baseball activity related staff member have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to reports.
Detroit Tigers General Manager Al Avila did not identify the player nor the staff member, and it's unclear if either of them still have the virus, according to a report from The Detroit Free Press Wednesday.
The news comes one week before the Tigers are scheduled to report to spring training for a shortened 60-game season, the Free Press reported.
