Elderly Wayne County Couple Dies In Thursday Morning Fire
The couple died trying to escape the fire through the garage of their home, according to reports.
WAYNE COUNTY, MI — Two people died Thursday morning in a house fire in Wayne County's Van Buren Township, according to reports.
The two people, a married couple in their 70s, died trying to escape the fire through the garage of the home, according to ClickOnDetroit. The news outlet also reported both people were in their 70s.
WXYZ reported the fire occurred in the area of 45510 Lilac Lane on Belleville Lake.

Michigan State Police said fire investigators and accelerant canines are headed to the scene to assist with the investigation.
