MICHIGAN — Gary Jones, the former United Auto Workers Union President accused of embezzling funds, has pleaded guilty on Wednesday, according to reports.

The New York Times reported Jones is the highest-ranking union official to admit wrongdoing in a federal investigation involving more than a dozen union officials.

Federal prosecutors in March charged the former president of the United Auto Workers with corruption, alleging he conspired with others at the union to embezzle more than $1 million, according to The Associated Press.
